Actress Debra Messing said anti-Israel activists’ silence on Iran was “the boldest example of hypocrisy.”
“The silence of the pro-Palestinian people on this issue is the bravest example of hypocrisy.” Messing said Tuesday on the “Being Jewish with Jonah Platt” podcast.
Messing made the remarks while discussing Hamas’ advocacy following the October 7 terrorist attacks on Israel and his decision to speak publicly about Israel and broader Middle East issues.
He framed his comments around what he saw as a lack of consistency, especially from anti-Israel activists who have been vocal against the country.

“What’s going on in Iran?” Messing asked. “It’s really exciting to see because we all knew it was a fraud.”

“I wanted to give information about Israel, about our history… about Hamas, about the Revolutionary Guard,” he said. “It quickly became clear that this was impossible.”
