Delhi CM Rekha Gupta inaugurates 100-TPD waste-to-CBG plant

New Delhi, 26 September (PTI) Delhi Prime Minister Rekha Gupta opened a 100 -ton solid waste biogas plant a day in the city on Friday and reiterated the commitment of the government to ensure that the national capital was not behind in the development race.
The compressed biogas (CBG) facility in Ghogha Disteyy and the integrated CBG-CNG fuel station were established on January 4, 2022 under a understanding of understanding between Delhi Municipality Company (MCD) and IndrapRastha GAS Limited (IGL).
According to the authorities, the facility was developed on a three-acre plot on the Narela-Bawana road in Ghogha Dikay. While the land was provided by the MCD, the plant was established by IGL at its own cost.
The facility includes two Digester units with a capacity of 6,000 cubic meters.
“Fossil fuels will produce about four tons of CBG per day as a renewable and cleaner alternative to fossil fuels, which will contribute to less greenhouse gas emissions and improved urban air quality.” He said.
During the opening, the Prime Minister said that Delhi should not be delayed in any sector and that the government was working on new schools, hospitals, fire stations, eliminating garbage mounds and cleaned the Yamuna River.
“As a part of the Prime Minister’s birthday celebrations, 24 small fire departments were initiated to address Delhi’s congested and narrow lanes. This will enable emergency services to reach even the most critical areas without delay.” He said.
The Prime Minister also announced on September 30, Interior Minister Amit Shah will join him at the opening. LaThe 4,000 Crore project focused on rejuvenating the Yamuna River.
