Delhi Govt to Seek SC Nod for Green Firecrackers
Delhi Prime Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday that his government would approach the high court because he allowed a green fireworks explosion in Diwali in the national capital.
Gupta also said that the government would look for direction for the use of certified green fireworks and provide the public participation and commitment to regulations. He said that Diwali is one of the biggest festivals and that the government decided to approach the court considering Crores.
“The Delhi government reiterates the commitment to effectively control pollution and protect the environment, and provides full cooperation with the Supreme Court to implement any directive published on this issue.” He said. According to the court orders, all kinds of fireworks were banned in Delhi.
