Delhi riots case LIVE: Supreme Court to pronounce verdict in bail pleas of Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam and others

Student activist Umar Khalid, accused in a larger conspiracy case related to the 2020 North East Delhi riots, was granted interim bail on December 11, 2025, to attend his sister’s wedding.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Sameer Bajpai at Karkardooma court granted bail to Mr. Khalid from December 16 to December 29.

The conditional bail granted to Mr. Khalid includes the clause that he will not use social media and will only meet with his family members, relatives and friends. He was ordered to stay at home or at the place where weddings and other ceremonies were to be held.
