Democrats are jubilant over Pam Bondi’s sudden dismissal as Justice Department head, and prominent members of the party are saying “good luck” on social media.

Democrats rejoiced over X after President Donald Trump confirmed reports on Truth Social on Thursday that Bondi was leaving her post as U.S. attorney.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-Y) wrote: “We are saved. Pam Bondi was the wrong choice from the beginning.”

Arguing that “the rot at the Justice Department began and ended with Donald Trump,” he wrote: “As long as the focus is on using the DOJ as a tool for revenge, not law enforcement, the Epstein files cover-up and countless other problems at the DOJ will continue.”

Prominent Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., a former Democratic presidential candidate, claimed that Bondi “will be remembered for blocking the release of the Epstein files, weaponizing the Justice Department to go after Trump’s political rivals, and doling out merger approvals as political favors.”

“Under AG Pam Bondi, the Ministry of Justice has become a cesspool of corruption,” he claimed, adding another: “Good riddance.”

Sen. Adam Schiff of California, who oversaw the Jan. 6 hearings during his time in the House, reacted by writing that Bondi “has overseen an unprecedented weaponization of the Justice Department that has brought our nation’s rule of law to its knees.”

“Countless and baseless political investigations, the purges of hundreds of law enforcement professionals, a massive cover-up of the Epstein files, and a wholesale effort to turn the department into a criminal law firm representing the president rather than the American people,” Schiff claimed, adding, “But Pam Bondi was just one symptom of Donald Trump’s chronic allergy to our nation’s laws.”

On the House side, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (DY) wrote: “Pam Bondi is a partisan, disgruntled, political hack. And now she’s GONE.”

“Pam Bondi is fired. Get well soon,” Jeffries wrote in another post, adding: “Pete Hegseth is next.”

“Keep up the pressure on every single one of these extremists,” he wrote.

Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, a House Democrat who recently lost her bid for the party’s Senate nomination in Texas, began shouting profanities after the news broke.

“Well… first it was Kristi Noem, now it’s Pam Bondi… It would only be fitting if Pete was next,” he gleefully boasted. “I see a theme. It will throw incompetent women under the bus much faster than incompetent men.”

“Let’s agree that America needs renewal,” Crockett wrote. “The President nominated these terrible people, the Republican-controlled Senate confirmed them, and I mean…a lot of people thought we should give so much power to the Pu**y extortion, the 6-time bankruptcy filing, the 34-convict best friend of Epstein. WE NEED AN END…but only if America does better.”

Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., said Bondi “should still comply with our subpoena and testify before the court.” [House] The Oversight Committee is concerned with the release of his incriminating Epstein Files.”

“He may be fired, but he is not above the law,” Ansari wrote. “We will not stop fighting until every victim receives justice and everyone complicit in this cover-up, no matter how powerful, is held accountable.”

Democrats weren’t the only ones happy to see Bondi fired.

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-N.C., who has challenged both her party and the administration in recent months, accused Bondi of “egregiously handling the Epstein Files and seriously undermining President Trump.”

Mace claimed that Bondi “obstructed every effort to hold the criminal accountable,” adding that “the American people deserve an Attorney General who is transparent and provides true accountability.”

Following reports that Trump was considering replacing Bondi with current Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin, Mace wrote whether those reports were true, “I welcome that.”

“I look forward to a new Attorney General committed to achieving justice for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims,” he wrote.

However, Bondi was not universally vilified following the news.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., defended Bondi, calling her “a great friend and one of the best lawyers I’ve ever met.”

“He did an incredible job as Florida’s Attorney General while I was Governor and was an incredible U.S. Attorney,” Scott wrote. “Ann and I are proud of everything Pam has done to make America safe again and restore the rule of law. Thank you, [Pam Bondi]!”

Former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz also joined Bondi’s defense. Gaetz cleared the way for Bondi by resigning from Congress to become Trump’s attorney general before withdrawing his candidacy amid growing resistance.

“Pam Bondi will be known as one of the greatest crime fighters of our time. She is a patriot whom we all admire,” Gaetz wrote.

He likewise predicted that Todd Blanche, whom Trump announced would replace Bondi as interim U.S. attorney general, “will do a great job for the Trump/Vance Administration and all of us.”

Blanche herself wrote on social media: “Pam Bondi has led this Department with strength and conviction, and I am grateful for her leadership and friendship.”

“I thank President Trump for his trust and the opportunity to serve as Acting Attorney General,” he continued. “We will continue to support blue, enforce the law, and do everything we can to keep America safe.”

Political analyst Jonathan Turley wrote that “the news of Pam Bondi’s departure echoed like thunder in Washington.”

“There had been some rumors recently, but nothing concrete the week before. Bondi, like Todd Blanche (the new Acting AG), is a fiercely loyal person who has made his bones in the trenches with the President in impeachment and criminal trials,” he wrote.

Turley predicted that “the transition to Blanche will be seamless” and said that Zeldin, if elected, “will have the advantage of being a known and popular figure on Capitol Hill.”
