Democrats sink to new voter low, Republicans also underwater: poll

A new national poll is the latest to show Democrats face major problems with their party’s image.
According to an NBC News poll, only 30% of registered voters have a positive view of the Democratic Party, while 52% have a negative view.
The survey is the latest from last year Democratic Party The brand, which has reached historic lows in some cases, comes as Democrats aim to escape political brutality and regain the House and Senate majorities in the 2026 midterm elections.
The GOP, which is trying to defend its slim congressional majority in the 2026 ballot showdowns amid a harsh political climate unfavorable to the ruling party, is not doing well in the poll conducted from Feb. 27 to March 3.

37 percent of registered voters said they viewed the Republican Party favorably, while 51 percent viewed the GOP unfavorably.
Democrats themselves are helping to drive down the Democratic Party’s underwater ratings. Only 62% of Democrats surveyed had a positive view of their party, while 77% of Republicans gave the GOP a positive rating.
The release of the NBC News poll comes just days after the latest Fox News national poll showed 70 percent of registered voters disapprove of the job Congressional Democrats are doing; This rate has increased by 6 points since December 2025. Views of congressional Republicans were less positive, with 64 percent disapproving.

Only 63 percent of Democrats polled by Fox News approved of the job their party is doing in Congress, while 77 percent of Republicans responded favorably to GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

In the NBC News survey, Trump’s approval rate was 44 percent, while the rate of those who disapproved of his job in the White House was 54 percent.
The president had 43 percent approval and 57 percent disapproval in the latest Fox News national poll.
