Denise Richards’ ex Aaron Phypers arrested in court for spousal abuse

LOS ANGELES — Denise Richards’ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, was arraigned in court Friday.

Richards’ attorney told Fox News that Digital Phypers was arrested on spousal abuse charges.

Phypers was handcuffed in the courtroom. He was later seen arguing with the sheriffs as they took him into custody at the courthouse, going down the escalators.

After sheriffs escorted Phypers from the courtroom, officers returned to retrieve his cellphone.

Fox News Digital was unable to reach Phypers’ attorney for comment.

Richards was initially given a temporary restraining order A lawsuit was filed against Phypers in July over allegations of physical and emotional abuse she suffered throughout their marriage, including an alleged violent incident that occurred when Phypers filed for divorce in July.

Richards testified in court last week that Phypers tried to discredit her at a time when their relationship was deteriorating and at one point leaked nude photos of the “Wild Things” actress.

“It’s been hard for my daughters, especially because of the nude photos,” Richards, who shares two daughters with ex Charlie Sheen and a daughter with Phypers, told the judge at Wednesday’s court hearing. “As a mother, I feel so ashamed and ashamed. [My daughter] I couldn’t go to church.”

In July, Richards petitioned the court, claiming Phypers stole her computer and “distributed private information, including nude photos, to various news organizations.” Judge Nicole Bershon ordered Phypers to return the device within 48 hours.

On July 29, the judge banned Phypers from distributing “private” or “sensitive information” or sexually explicit photos he may have downloaded from his phone or computer.

“Aaron stole my laptop and sent me private text messages that he stole from my laptop without my permission. Aaron threatened that if I called the police I would ‘disappear,'” Richards wrote in her petition for a temporary restraining order. he wrote.

Phypers denied Richards’ allegations in a statement to People magazine, saying, “I absolutely deny false allegations that I violated the restraining order or stole Denise’s laptop or cell phone. These allegations are not only untrue, but are being used as a weapon to damage my reputation and distract from the truth.”

At Wednesday’s hearing, Richards’ attorney Brett Berman put Phypers in a difficult position.

“How did you get [those photos]” he asked.

“I took pictures of his phone with my phone,” Phypers said. “This was something he hid from me. I didn’t think it was private. … My wife was cheating on me.”

When Berman asked Phypers whether releasing this private material would amount to “invading” Richards’ privacy, he replied: “No, absolutely not. She was already sharing it with someone.”

After Berman asked Phypers how she would feel if the roles were reversed and her sensitive photos were published, she replied, “If I put it out there, I’ll put it out there.”

Phypers divorce case filed July 7 from Richards. She cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking spousal support from the “Real Housewives” star. Ten days later, Richards’ request for a temporary restraining order was granted.

“Throughout our relationship, Aaron often violently strangled me, grabbed my head with both hands, squeezed my arms tightly, slapped my face and head violently, slammed my head aggressively against the bathroom towel rack, threatened to kill me, pressed his knee into my back to the point where I had to beg him to get off me so he wouldn’t kill me, and hacked into my laptop and phone and hacked into my entire body,” Richards said. “He downloaded my messages,” he said. “Aaron regularly threatened to ‘break my jaw,’ cried, begged for me to stay, and promised to get help; none of this happened. Aaron gave me at least three concussions.”

At hearings earlier this month, Richards described multiple allegations of physical and emotional abuse as she detailed horrific events that left the mother-of-three fearing for her life.

At one point during the hearing, Richards asked for tissues and began to cry, recalling the harassment that occurred in May. Richards claimed Phypers was “very volatile” with her at the Four Seasons hotel, just hours after the reality TV star underwent multiple plastic surgeries, including a facelift.

Phypers allegedly tried to search Richards’ devices while he was sleeping. He allegedly hit her in the face and damaged the drain in the process.

“That’s when I really, really knew our marriage was over because of physical abuse, but it was just getting worse and worse,” Richards said. “But the fact that he did this to me five hours after coming out of a seven-hour surgery… made me feel so many things. Scared and vulnerable.”

Richards took the stand once again to detail Phypers’ allegedly “manic” behavior throughout their relationship.

In response to her allegedly leaked photos posted by Phypers, Richards sent a video — some of which was shown in court — referring to Phypers as a “narcissist” and detailing multiple incidents of alleged physical abuse.

“You were the last person I thought would do this to me,” Richards told Phypers via video recording presented to the court. “I don’t know why I had a hard time with this. Things were bad Charlie and I but he never hit below the belt.

“I said to my dad, ‘I don’t know why I believe in you and love you,’ and I thought you were truly my soulmate,” she continued. “Never in a million years did I think we would get divorced.”

Richards denied any infidelity but accused Phypers of abandoning their marriage.

Phypers also demanded spousal support and half of the “Real Housewives” star’s OnlyFans income.

Phypers filed a petition Wednesday claiming she ran out of money after Richards allegedly cut off access to their joint bank account and took away her entire business equipment. He claimed Richards prevented him from earning a living.

“With respect to his OnlyFans page, the money he receives from it is approximately $200,000 to $300,000 per month, and this income is derived from photographs I have taken and to which I own intellectual property rights,” Phypers’ petition, obtained by Fox News Digital, said. he says.

“So this is our joint gain, not just his. I request that I receive half of the OnlyFans income as a controlling interest in ownership.”

According to Phypers, he is about to be evicted from his home and all his services have already been cut off. He requested immediate access to $200,000.

Phypers also sought additional spousal support in addition to half of Richards’ OnlyFans earnings.
