Essendon may need to lobby the AFL for a mercy rule like the one in youth sport tonight. But to be fair, they have had a few goalscoring chances and they keep squandering them and are more competitive than West Coast showed against Sydney last night. This is not a compliment. The Western Bulldogs are playing with their food a bit here but still lead by 54 points at half-time – and the electric Arty Jones is giving us Easter Sunday entertainment. There’s no way Bombers fans can enjoy tonight, but their Dogs counterparts and neutrals can do so by following the ever-brilliant Marcus Bontempelli, Sam Darcy, Jones and the impressive Joel Freijah, who has five tackles with 16 disposals.
