Dharmendra is ‘recovering’: Esha Deol refutes death rumours
“The media seems to be going into overdrive and spreading fake news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to protect our family’s privacy. Thank you for praying for my father’s speedy recovery,” Esha wrote in her Instagram post.
His statement came amid widespread speculation and reports suggesting that the actor had passed away.
Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital earlier this week after his health deteriorated. His wife, actress and politician Hema Malini, had earlier informed his fans that he was under observation and urged everyone to pray for his recovery.
His family members, including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Karan Deol and Rajveer Deol, were seen visiting the hospital on Monday evening. Many Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda and Ameesha Patel also stopped by to check on the actor’s condition. Earlier today, amid growing public concern, Dharmendra’s elder son and actor Sunny Deol also issued an official statement through his team confirming that his father remains under observation. “Mr. Dharmendra’s condition is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as soon as possible. Please do not allow spreading false rumors regarding his health. Ask everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy,” the statement said. Dharmendra’s wife and veteran actress Hema Malini had also assured her fans earlier this week. In his social media post, he said, “I would like to thank everyone for their concerns about Dharam ji, who is under observation in the hospital. He is under constant monitoring and we are all with him. I ask you all to pray for his health and speedy recovery.”
Known for his iconic roles in Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, Yaadon Ki Baaraat and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Dharmendra remains one of the most loved names in Indian cinema.
