The entertainment world is mourning the death of iconic actor Dharmendra Deol, who passed away on Monday, November 24. The 89-year-old veteran actor was receiving medical care at a hospital in Mumbai and was on life support before he died. He would have turned 90 on December 8th. Despite the pain, fans will see Dharmendra on the big screen posthumously in “Ikkis”, opposite Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.
About Dharmendra’s latest movie “Ikkis”
The upcoming biographical war drama “Ikkis” is creating quite a buzz. The film stars Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, the film is scheduled to release in theaters in December this year. The trailer, released last month, created a stir among fans who wanted Dharmendra to share the screen with Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda.
“Ikkis” is inspired by the remarkable true story of Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was posthumously honored with the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film also marks the debut of Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia, who is actor Akshay Kumar’s nephew. Agastya will play Arun Khetarpal, while Simar will play his love interest.
Dharmedra’s latest movie Ikkis will be released on December 25
The makers of the upcoming movie ‘Ikkis’ today announced the poster featuring veteran actor Dharmendra. The film, starring Agastya Nanda in the lead role, is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 25, on Christmas Eve.
Dharmedra’s role in Ikkis
Dharmendra plays Arun’s grandfather, who shares stories of courage from his past with young Arun, who is touched by the stories. Jaideep Ahlawat plays a Pakistani officer who informs Dharmendra that Arun Khetarpal’s bravery is appreciated not only in India but also across the border.
Dharmendra’s son, actor Sunny Deol, had earlier shared the trailer of the film and expressed his excitement to see his father on screen. Sunny wrote: “DAD looks SO GOOD again. I LOVE YOU. Meanwhile, apart from ‘Ikkis’, Dharmendra was also working on ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya Phir Se’ with Arbaaz Khan. The latter two appeared together in the 1998 hit “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”, which also featured Salman Khan and Kajol. Fans reunited after 27 years and waited for the movie with excitement. Shooting for the film began earlier this year, but there have been no major updates since then.
