The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday the launch of a “Worst of the Worst” web page that displays information about criminal illegal immigrants arrested during the Trump administration’s enforcement campaign.

The page allows users to search for hundreds of thousands of criminal illegal immigrants arrested in all 50 states, the agency said. Many have criminal histories that include murder, assault, rape, drug trafficking, child molestation, cruelty to a child, battery and armed robbery, among other crimes, DHS said in a news release.

“While Americans across the country were enjoying weekends and holiday shopping, ICE law enforcement was hard at work apprehending pedophiles, gang members, and drug traffickers,” said DHS Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Today, we launched the ‘worst of the worst’ website so every American can see for themselves the criminal illegal aliens we arrest, what crimes they commit, and what communities we remove them from. This holiday season, be sure to thank law enforcement for all they do to make America safe again.”

“Under the leadership of Secretary (Kristi) Noem, the hard-working men and women of DHS and ICE are fulfilling President Trump’s promise and carrying out mass deportations, starting with the worst of the worst, including the illegal aliens you see here,” the page said.

McLaughlin and the Trump administration accused the media of “whitewashing” facts about the detention of illegal immigrants with violent criminal histories and portraying them as victims of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation campaign.

“While the media suppresses the truth every day, our brave men and women at ICE risk their lives for the American people,” McLaughlin said. “Americans don’t have to rely on the press for this information; with this transparent tool, they can see for themselves what public safety threats are lurking in their neighborhoods and communities.”

The launch of the web page comes as officials in sanctuary states and cities refuse to allow local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration authorities or honor immigration detainees.

In addition, DHS said many were involved in “malicious lies and deceptions resulting from hateful rhetoric from mainstream media that continue to distort the work of the brave men and women who conduct immigration enforcement operations.”

Some of the illegal immigrants featured on the website were arrested last weekend:

Cesar Ramos-Cruz, an El Salvadoran who was convicted of indecent liberties with a child in Alamance County, North Carolina; and Rodrigo Roman Basantes of Ecuador, convicted of sexual assault (victim under 13) and endangering the welfare of a child by sexual conduct in Hudson County, New Jersey.
