Diddy seeks release on $US50m bond ahead of sentencing

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s lawyers called a judge who controls the sex crimes before a multimilyon-dollar bond before the October 3 sentence after the hip-hop mogul was not guilty of the most serious charges faced.
Combs’ defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo said that the conditions in the metropolitan detention center in Brooklyn were dangerous and that the defendants convicted of charges similar to Combs were usually released before being sent.
“Sean Combs should not be in prison for this behavior,” Agnifilo wrote.
“In fact, it may be the only person in the United States prison because there is any John in the prison of the United States.”
The US lawyer’s office spokesman in Manhattan, who brought wages, refrained from commenting.
After a six -week hearing, 55 -year -old Combs was not found guilty of three sex smuggling and tribute conspiracy with potential life penalties on July 2.
He was convicted of two less transportation charges to prostitution.
Each of these numbers is sentenced to a maximum of 10 years of imprisonment, but prosecutors have accepted that the federal punishment guidelines proposed a sentence far below the legal maximum.
Prosecutors claimed that the founder of Bad Boy Records used the resources of the physical violence, threat and business empire to force two old girlfriends to participate in drug -fuel sexual performances with male sex workers, sometimes called “freaks”.
The combs claimed that he was not guilty and his lawyers argued that his two girlfriends willingly participated in the matches.
The US Regional Judge Arun Subramanian rejected Combs’s first release request immediately after deciding and referred to the wide evidence presented in the trial of the violence actions.
In a statement on Tuesday, Combs’s lawyers said it was unusual to be tried on crimes related to prostitution because he did not profit financially from prostitution actions.
They also said that the detention of the combs in the MDC since September 2024 should be described as a “exceptional situation” that guaranteed the release of the combs despite the evidence that it was severe.
He said that there were fights in the lawyers’ lawyers unit and wrote on Tuesday that his security was at risk.
“BOP is constantly working to include MDC Brooklyn to improve the conditions in all our institutions,” said Spokesman of the Federal Prisons Office, which runs the MDC.
