Met Office names day 35C May heatwave will end | Weather | News

Meteorology announced when the heat wave will end with rain and wind forecasts. Temperatures have already soared well above late May averages and broken several records, the national forecaster said.
The current stable weather pattern will continue through mid-week, bringing more sunshine and very warm temperatures. However, as the week progresses, there are increasing signs of change, with slight cooling in some regions. Today (May 27), cooler air from the North Sea moves inland, pushing east coast temperatures closer to mid-to-high temperatures. Temperatures are still approaching the lower 30s in parts of the south and west. In addition to sunny and variably cloudy weather, the risk of intermittent thunderstorms will continue. But for most, conditions remain dry and stable. Tomorrow (28 May), temperatures will be in the mid to high 20s in most parts of the UK, with some central and southern areas approaching 30C.
There will be plenty of sunshine, but some cloud will develop at times and the risk of scattered showers or thunderstorms remains. Coverage of these is expected to be quite limited and most areas will remain dry.
Eastern areas will likely be slightly warmer, but coastal areas may still feel cooler due to onshore breezes. In general, the weather will remain very hot or very hot in many regions.
By Friday 29 May, the weather system will move north-east across Scotland, bringing thicker clouds, showers and breezier conditions.
In other regions, conditions will remain more stable with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Although many places will remain dry, there is still a chance of a few showers, particularly in southern England.
Temperatures will drop slightly from earlier in the week, but will still be too warm for most and remain above average for this time of year.
While the highest temperatures in the south are expected to reach around 28C, temperatures in the north will drop from the high 10s to the 20s.
As we approach the weekend, the chances of rain and strong winds increase, and conditions become more unstable than at the beginning of the week.
At the same time, high pressure is expected to move towards Europe, causing temperatures to gradually approach average, especially in the north. Although it will continue to be hot in places, the intense heat at the beginning of the week is expected to ease.
