High School employee arrested after having sexual relationship with student

A local high school secretary was arrested after police said she had sexual intercourse with a student.

The Union City Police Department arrested 31-year-old Alicia Hughes following an investigation into allegations involving indecent conduct with a minor.

According to police, Hughes was an employee of the Randolph Eastern School Corporation in Randolph County, Indiana.

Law enforcement was first notified of the alleged assault, which occurred overnight.

During the investigation, officers learned that Hughes’ husband found her with an 18-year-old student of the Randolph Eastern School Corporation and confronted them.

It was claimed that Hughes was beaten during the argument. The alleged battery is being investigated by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

As the investigation progressed, Union City Police Department investigators uncovered evidence that Hughes also had sexual intercourse with another high school student, who was 17 at the time.

Investigators determined that Hughes and the minor had sexual intercourse at least five times.

Based on the evidence obtained, Hughes was arrested and charged with five counts of Child Seduction related to sexual intercourse with the underage student.

He was transported to the Randolph County Jail, where he is being held on $25,000 cash bond.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
