Donald Trump has once again sparked concerns about his health after attending a controversial sporting event at the White House. The US president celebrated his 80th birthday by hosting the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event marking the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.
Trump and UFC chief Dana White were seen walking together from the Oval Office to the White House balcony overlooking the massive outdoor arena on the South Lawn nicknamed “The Claw.” But eagle-eyed observers noticed strange marks on Trump’s hands, leading many to speculate about his health. Aaron Rupar posted on X: “Trump’s hand is visibly discolored, looking in his 80s as he poses with Dana White.”
Another suggested that Trump, who was seen saluting during the national anthem, did not place his hand on his chest but instead did so to hide the bruise on his hand, which was seen many times during his second term in office.
They wrote: “Now you know why he saluted instead of placing his hand where his heart should be.”
A third user said: “This guy doesn’t just look awful. He looks angry and confused, things aren’t going as planned.”
Another added: “You got a bruise and swelling on your cheek?”
Trump has often been seen with bruises on his hands in recent years, and staff members try to hide these scars with make-up.
The White House, which initially explained the bruising as the effect of regular handshakes, declined to provide information about the cause of the marks.
Trump, the oldest person elected to the presidency in 2024, has claimed on multiple occasions that he is in good health, telling reporters that he is “doing well” on cognitive and physical tests during his second term.

Tens of thousands more watched the Freedom 250 games on a big screen in a park near the White House; some traveled from across the country for the show.
Some incongruous scenes emerged depicting warriors warming up in the formal setting of the White House.
