Desa Squadron Wins Commandant’s Banner For Spring Term 2026 At Air Force Academy, Dundigal

Hyderabad: Desa Squadron was adjudged as the 2026 Spring Term Champion Squadron at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal, during the Commander’s Banner Ceremony held at the Tejas Parade. The Commander’s Banner is awarded to the overall best-performing squadron at the Academy following a series of competitions that include academics, sports, debate, quiz events, drill competitions, cross-country runs, field camps and physical activities.
The last event of the competition series was the Inter-Fleet Drill Competition where Naidu Squadron secured the trophy with their drill performance, coordination and teamwork. Flying Cadets and Flight Officers in Training (UTFOs), dressed in ceremonial uniforms, took part in the parade in front of senior officers and teaching staff at the Academy. The march was accompanied by the martial tunes of the No. 3 Air Force Orchestra.
Squadron Cadet Captain Flight Cadet Vatan Dhindsa received the Commander’s Banner on behalf of Desa Squadron from AFA Commander Air Marshal Rahul Bhasin.
Addressing the cadets and UTFOs, the Commandant praised their dedication, discipline, teamwork and sporting spirit. He appealed to the trainees to remain physically fit and mentally agile throughout their service career in line with the Academy’s motto “Shram Se Siddhi”. He also congratulated the instructors and training staff for their role in training students and shaping them into future leaders prepared for operational responsibilities.
