Holly Willoughby rebrands as an influencer as she plots ambitious digital comeback after losing her TV crown

Holly Willoughby has been making comeback plans for the last few months in a bid to reclaim her TV crown.

The former This Morning presenter, 44, is quietly developing a ‘multi-phase program for digital platforms’ after a difficult few years.

Holly, who has been a darling of mainstream television for many years, is now trying to do something no one has ever done before.

The exciting new move, which showcases the changing media landscape, has redefined Holly as an influencer for her 8.1 million Instagram followers.

In an effort to modernize her name, Holly has tried to stay current on viral social media challenges, brand deals and sharing candid photos.

Her influencer era ties in perfectly with lifestyle and wellness brand Wylde Moon, which has been her main focus in the wake of the scandals surrounding it.

Last October, Holly filmed an Instagram Reel and attempted the viral sushi face mask challenge for her brand deal with Garnier.

The challenge saw thousands of influencers and fans using chopsticks to eat sushi while wearing face masks.

She captioned her post: ‘#AD Trying the sushi sheet mask challenge @garnieruk sheet mask discovery set back in stock 5 face and eye masks with Hyaluronic Acid

‘Shop from @amazonuk today and get HUGE deals on Amazon Prime Day #skincare… I love the face mask!!!’

As well as following trends to gain followers, Holly shares candid snaps from her day-to-day life, including lavish getaways, casual dog walks and sizzling mirror selfies.

Holly made sure to promote her perfume last year, even after she collided with a motorcyclist who suffered a broken neck and toe.

The aspiring influencer has released a series of promotional images for his Wylde Moon brand, which experts claim is likely an unfortunate social media mistake.

There was no allegation of wrongdoing by Holly and it may have been pre-planned for the post to be published on her social media profile in line with a promotional offer.

The reason he chose to redefine it as influencer is to coincide with his new project.

The Mail on Sunday revealed this week that he has decided to go it alone and is quietly working on a project in which he will produce and also host his own show.

She is teaming up with husband Dan Baldwin’s production company Hungry Bear to develop a ‘multi-phase program for digital platforms’, a move she is said to be ‘thrilled and excited about’.

A source close to Holly said: ‘The television industry has changed dramatically in recent years. Nothing is the same so it feels like a good time for Holly to do something a little different.

‘This is a new format; Something completely new, modern and progressive. This is not a podcast. It’s not something anyone has done before.

‘He will be at the center of everything, both in front of and behind the stage. ‘Holly likes to develop the format with a small team.’

Holly has had a tumultuous few years in her career.

Netflix show Celebrity Bear Hunt has been canceled after just one series following claims it was too expensive to produce.

This comes just months after Dancing On Ice was cancelled. He also decided to quit his presenting duties at You Bet!

Holly has largely remained off our screens since leaving This Morning in October 2023 after it was rumored that a former security guard was planning to kidnap, rape and murder her.

The sickening crime came just months after he fell out with presenter and friend Phillip Schofield.

Last year Holly was in huge demand for the reboot of classic series Record Breakers, which her TV producer husband Dan was working on.

A source told The Sun that Holly would be the ‘perfect fit’ for the programme, which is currently in its early stages and does not currently have an affiliated channel.

They explained: ‘Record Breakers is likely to be a huge hit in prime time and it would make perfect sense for Holly to take the reins. He’s worked with Dan before and the pair know what it takes to make great television.’

Holly has also been linked with a revival of Cilla Black’s Blind Date alongside the likes of Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall.

Rumors initially suggested the ITV hit series would make a comeback on the BBC, but now sources claim the love match show will be rebooted on Disney+.

It was also rumored that Holly would be the next Cilla. The presenter lists a series of big-money deals worth up to £10 million.

The revival was previously considered by Holly’s husband Dan, who replaced Cilla when the star previously hosted the Surprise Surprise reboot.

An insider told Sun at the time: ‘There may seem to be no obvious parallels between Holly and Cilla, but they are both two of the biggest stars of modern television.

Imitating ‘Cilla’ isn’t just about taking on her shows, it’s also about carving out a niche for yourself as a solo presenter with serious clout in the television world.

‘But together with her husband Dan, they make the strongest couple on television. He has a track record of producing hugely successful TV shows, while he has a folk appeal that appeals to audiences.’
