Disneyland guest dies after riding Haunted Mansion

A woman in her 60s died Monday evening after being found unresponsive after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland, according to authorities.

Anaheim Fire and Rescue crews were called to the park around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 for a report of an unresponsive guest who had just finished riding the Haunted Mansion, Sgt. Matt Sutter joins KTLA 5 News.

Disneyland security personnel performed CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, Sutter said.

Disneyland officials confirmed that one guest required medical treatment and was transported to a local hospital.

The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death. Authorities did not disclose the woman’s full name, age or city of residence.

Sutter confirmed that “there was no indication of any operational issues at the attraction, which reopened shortly.”

Matt Desmond, known online as “”Disney Scoop Man,Sharing the news about the incident on social media, he said, “We offer our condolences to his family and loved ones.”
