Do I have Covid or flu? Symptoms to look out for as cases rise this autumn

Health authorities warn with a seasonal increase in the flu and Covid-19 as autumn arrives, but two viruses share many symptoms, it is difficult to separate them.
When a smell seems to be more further than being “cold ,, it is difficult to know what can happen – but there are differences in terms of how viruses look and posing.
How can I know if there is a flu?
The flu is a respiratory tract infection that can be much more weaker than colds in winter. Colds typically brings nasal discharge, sneezing, juicy eyes and slight throat irritation, while the flu suddenly tends to come with fever, pain and exhaustion.
Only last winter, the flu sent more than 8,000 people to the hospital. In the last two years, at least 18,000 deaths have been associated with viruses in the UK. Children, elderly adults, people with long -term health problems and people with weakened immune systems face the highest risks.
Vaccination continues to be the most powerful defense. Research shows that last year’s JAB has prevented thousands of serious cases, and that hospital admission is over 65 years of age and reduces more than half among children aged two to 17 years.
In this autumn, the flu vaccine is offered free of charge to people whose flu vaccine is over 65 years of age, pregnant women, children aged 2 and 3 years and school children for up to 11 years from the reception. Adults under 65 years of age with certain health conditions are also suitable.
How do I know if Covid-19 is?
Covid-19 continues to cause serious illnesses, especially among vulnerable groups. The virus is constantly developing, new variants are easily spreading through coughing, sneezing and even chat.
Vaccination campaigns try to prevent hospitalization and deaths every autumn.
The list of symptoms has changed since 2020. Many people feel like cold symptoms such as nasal discharge, sore throat or clogged sinuses. However, others still report fever or tremor, a permanent cough, fatigue, headache, shortness of breath, or loss of taste and odor. Stomach problems such as nausea and diarrhea may also occur.
Doctors say that a muffled throat has become one of the distinguishing features of the latest variants.
The new strain called Stratus has two variants, XFG and XFG.
Although it takes into account most of the new cases, experts are not worried about spreading, it states that the mutation and change of viruses is normal.
All of those who are 65 years and older, residents of the nursing home and underlying health problems are entitled to the COVİD-19 booster.
Are cases climbing now?
According to the UK Health Safety Agency, flu and COVİD-19 levels may rise in winter and may participate in other seasonal errors such as RSV and Norovirus.
Until 10 September, UKHSA increased by 7.6 percent in Coronavirus cases in the UK compared to the previous week.
Experts say the risk is the highest risk in cold months when viruses are more easily spread inside.
Authorities call everyone who is suitable to take vaccines to reduce the burden on hospitals and protect the most vulnerable. Both flu and Covid-19 may be serious, but prevention and early awareness continue to be the best tools against them.
