Donald Trump breaks silence on bombshell Epstein and Andrew emails | World | News

US President Donald Trump has again criticized what he calls the “Epstein hoax” as he responds to growing scrutiny about what he knows about the disgraced financier. In a statement on Truth Social, Mr. Trump called Epstein “the Democrats’ problem” and added that he had “a country to run.”
The full statement read: “Democrats are doing everything they can to bring the Epstein Hoax to the fore again, even though the Democrats have released 50,000 pages of documents to recover from all the bad policies and losses of the Justice Department, especially the SHUTDOWN Shame where their party is in complete disarray and have no idea what to do.”
“Some Weak Republicans fell for them because they were soft and stupid. Epstein was a Democrat and he’s not the Republicans’ problem, it’s the Democrats’ problem! Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman and Larry Summers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump. I have a Country to Rule!”
It comes after US lawmakers released more than 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of convicted sex offender Epstein, including those involving Mr Trump.
The messages were released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee and will likely put more pressure on President Trump about his relationship with Epstein.
The published messages largely date back to before Trump entered the White House in January 2017, following the November 2016 elections.
The White House quickly dismissed the emails as a “fake story” pushed by Democrats ahead of a high-stakes House vote on releasing the full dossier; Republicans accused the opposition of redacting the names to defame the incoming administration.
In a 2016 deposition, Giuffre said she did not believe Trump was aware of any allegations of sexual abuse of minors at Epstein’s home. “I don’t think Donald Trump participated in anything,” he said in 2024, according to unsealed documents.
“This must be another assumption. I have never seen or witnessed Donald Trump was participating in these actions, but was she at Jeffrey Epstein’s house? “I heard it was, but I haven’t seen it myself, so I don’t know.”
Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in the Epstein case, has not been charged with any crime by law enforcement, and has never been identified as the subject of any investigation.
