Donald Trump has quietly given Australian MAGA influencer Nick Adams a new job
Washington: Australian-born MAGA influencer Nick Adams, whom Donald Trump fired as ambassador to Malaysia, has been quietly appointed as the president’s special envoy for “American tourism, exceptionalism and values.”
Adams, who grew up in Sydney and is a controversial Liberal councilor in the inner west, was nominated by Trump to be US ambassador to Kuala Lumpur last July. However, he was never confirmed by the US Senate and his nomination expired at the end of the year.
This imprint It was revealed last month that Adams was dismissed. He said at the time that he would be “promoted” to a new role, but did not say what that was.
Adams’ biography on the US State Department website now updated to reflect his appointment as senior advisor and “Special Presidential Envoy for American Tourism, Exceptionalism, and Values.” The appointment took effect March 17 and appears to be a new position.
According to the State Department, Adams has “skills and accomplishments acquired over the years as a political commentator, policy writer, and educator” that will position him well for the role.
Adams describes himself as an American entrepreneur, cultural thought leader and best-selling author. Trump praised the 2025 book: From Mar-a-Lago to MARS: President Trump’s Great American Comeback.
In addition to his speaking engagements, he runs a Florida-based organization called the Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness, which produces patriotic resources for schoolchildren.
But Adams has gained a reputation on social media as a staunch Trump supporter; The Twitter/X page consisted almost exclusively of posts deifying the president.
He branded himself as an “alpha male” He embodies traditional masculinity by railing against feminism, pronouns, and drag shows, among other things.

In a social media video, Adams stepped on a pack of M&Ms chocolate bars in Times Square after manufacturer Mars announced packaging depicting female M&Ms.
“Feminist M&M’s… It’s despicable, it’s disgusting, and it shouldn’t stand,” she said in the video. “Starting today, every man who buys a pack of M&Ms must turn in his man card because he is a soft, woke, battered male feminist with serious, serious problems.”
But Adams’ strange attitudes and derogatory remarks about Islam caused consternation in Muslim-majority Malaysia. News of his dismissal as ambassador-designate was widely welcomed there.
“Mr Adams had no experience or understanding of Malaysia and his toxic politics would have worsened ties,” said Bridget Welsh, a political analyst at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. said Straits Times last month.
Adams’ new position does not appear to have been announced by the White House or State Department. Both have been contacted for comment. The White House referred Adams to the State Department website.
Adams did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Although Trump has been in power for 14 months, he has not yet appointed an ambassador to Australia. When Questioned by this imprint in OctoberTrump said he had one or two people in mind, but wanted to appoint someone Prime Minister Anthony Albanese would like.
“Here’s the good news, everyone wants to be ambassador to Australia,” Trump said at the time.
