The National Consortium of Law Universities (NLUs) will close the registrations for the first round counseling of the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) 2026 at 10 pm today, Saturday. Today is the last day to register to qualify for the first round of quotas. Candidates who pass the exam and receive the first round consultancy invitation must complete the registration process before the application deadline. Candidates who remain unanswered will not be considered for counselling.
The announcement date of quota allocation for the first round of consultancy is January 7, 2026.
What is the counseling process?
The consultancy process will be carried out in five rounds. At each step of the counseling, candidates will be required to complete the admission formalities and pay the confirmation fee before the last date. Eligible candidates will have three options throughout the process: Freeze (accept the seat), Move (request an upgrade), or Exit (withdraw from counseling).
Registration is online and must be done on the official website at the consortiumofnlus link. hungry. Candidates who register within the application deadline will be evaluated for the first round quota allocation.
Who is eligible?
Candidates invited from the consortium were entitled to register for the CLAT 2025 exam, which was held in 126 centers on December 7. Both Undergraduate Students (Bachelor of Laws LLB) and Postgraduate Students (LLM LLM) are eligible to enroll. Candidates must have their CLAT application number and password ready.

Announcement date of allocated quotas: January 7
Registration for admissions counseling: December 17, 18:00 to December 27, 22:00
Announcement of the Second allocation list for the second round of consultancy – 22 January 2026, 10:00
Payment of confirmation fee for Freezing and Release options/adoption by NLUs for the second allotment list: 22-29 January 2026, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Announcement of the third allocation list for the start of the third round of consultancy: February 5, 2026, at 10:00
Payment for the third allocation list: 5-12 February 2026, between 10:00 – 13:00.
