Donald Trump launches ‘Gold Card’ visa program, offering fast-track residency to US; Check here to know who can apply, eligibility criteria, processing fee and more

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday officially launched the Gold Card investor visa program, which allows wealthy foreign nationals to quickly gain residence in the US for US$1 million. Higher fees apply for corporate sponsors, including the proposed $5 million ‘Platinum’ option.
US President Donald Trump announced that applications for the new Gold Card Citizenship program will open Wednesday afternoon, revealing the immigration pathway he has long supported as part of his administration’s broader economic strategy.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the importance of the launch, writing: “THE US GOVERNMENT’S TRUMP GOLD CARD IS HERE TODAY! A direct path to Citizenship for all qualified and vetted people. SO EXCITING! Our Great American Corporations can finally retain their invaluable Talent. Live Site launches in 30 minutes!”
“His remarks underscored the program’s intended role in helping U.S. companies retain skilled workers.
What is the Gold Card visa program?
The Gold Card Citizenship initiative builds on the Trump Gold Card program, created in September by Executive Order 14351, which created an investor-visa framework designed to offer a “fast track” to U.S. permanent residence for high-net-worth individuals.
During the signing of the decision, the US President said, “We are getting hundreds of billions of dollars. The Gold Card will receive hundreds of billions of dollars, and companies will be able to keep the people they need. They need expert people, great expertise,” signaling the administration’s expectation that the program will attract large investments and specialized talent.
Under the framework, applicants can choose between three tiers: Individual Trump Gold Card, Trump Corporate Gold Card and Trump Platinum Card. Each of these tiers requires significant financial commitments aimed at bringing significant capital to the U.S. economy while providing expedited immigration processing.
Who can apply for Trump’s ‘Gold Card’ visa?
The Gold Card is for people applying for citizenship, while the corporate Gold Card is for those who want to participate in the program as a corporate sponsored employee. Here’s a breakdown of the cost of the two programs.
transaction fee
For individual applicants, a non-refundable application fee of $15,000 is required along with a processing fee per application, payable by credit card or ACH debit card for U.S. banks. Once the application is approved, a one-time ‘gratuity’ payment of US$1 million is required to complete the application process.
For corporate applicants, a non-refundable application and processing fee of $15,000 per application applies. Once the application is approved, a one-time ‘gratuity’ payment of US$2 million is required to complete the application.
This rank is transferable among employees, subject to a 5 percent transfer fee and a DHS background check.
The highest tier, the Trump Platinum Card, requires a payment of $5 million plus a $15,000 processing fee. It also offers an additional incentive to global investors by allowing recipients to spend up to 270 days each year in the United States without being taxed on foreign income.
For all tiers, additional small fees payable to the U.S. Department of State may apply and processing fees are fully non-refundable. Once the application and fees are submitted, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) initiates an extensive background verification of the applicant and family members (if included).
After a successful review, the applicant is issued a Green Card, granting permanent residence in the United States.
What is the application deadline for the Gold Card visa?
As of now, there is no deadline for application on the website.
