Inter-caste marriages can be conducted in CPI(M) offices, says P. Shanmugam

CPI (M) State Secretary P. Shahanmugam Mondt, the marriages of couples facing the resistance of the families, the caste marriages can be carried out in the CPI (M) party offices in the state.
“We carried out a marriage in our office in Tirunelveli and searched for relatives of the bride. But we continue to support inter -caste marriages. There are progressive forces in all communities and we must define and organize them. Only then we can create a united façade against the Castist elements.”
Mr. Shahanmugam said that although the former CPI (M) Legislative Party leader A. Soundarararajan brought a bill of law seeking a special law to deal with Kast murders in Parliament in 2015, he was defeated. “There is a misunderstanding between intermediate communities and planned castes, which usually causes the murder of young couples.
Authorized, CPI State Secretary R. Mutharasan and VCK leader Thol added. Thirumavalavan had already met Prime Minister MK Stalin to enact such a law. “We explained the situation to the Prime Minister for 30 minutes and felt that he was in favor of our request. He should bring legislation in the next Assembly session.”
Mr. Shahanmugam said that the Tirunelveli region witnessed such folding in just a year and that he was “completely out of control”. “Now, there is an increasing public support for a law and the government should have the opportunity,” he said.
