TN Secures 95.03 Pass Percentage In Class 12 Board Exams This Year

Chennai : When the board exam results were declared on Friday, Tamil Nadu recorded 95.03 pass percentage for Class XII board exams this year; this is 0.17 percent higher than last year’s 95.03 percent. Announcing the results, School Education Department officials said that Erode district recorded the highest pass percentage with 98.87 percent, followed by Sivaganga district with 98.05 percent. However, Chennai ranked 20th with a pass percentage of 95.43.
This year the girls outshined the boys by achieving a 97 percent passing percentage. Men, on the other hand, could only achieve a passing percentage of 93.19 percent.
Officials said that out of 7,536 high schools, a total of 2,639 private schools and 489 government schools achieved 100 percent pass percentage.
Accordingly, 7 million 53 thousand 694 of the 7 million 91 thousand 654 students who took the exams received a passing grade. While the overall pass percentage of the Science stream was 96.90, Commerce batch students secured 92.67 percent.
