Man dead, two arrested after public daylight shooting

A man is dead and two people are detained after a daylight shooting on a suburban street.
The victim was found shot in the neck, chest and leg by police who arrived after a shooting in Blacktown, in Sydney’s west, on Friday afternoon.
It was stated that the person who was intervened by medical teams died at the scene.
A Mazda ute was seen leaving the scene of the attack, leading to a police chase that quickly ended when the vehicle crashed on Kildare Road, less than 2km away.
According to police, two people in the cabin tried to escape but were arrested by police and taken to Blacktown Police Station.
Carinya Street, where the victim was found, is a block away from the center of the large suburb.
Sydney has experienced more than a dozen public shootings, arson attacks and kidnappings since Christmas 2024; This led police to set up Taskforce Falcon, a force of 150 officers, in May to quell the underground war.
