DRDO, IAF successfully test indigenous Astra Missile with Radio Frequency Seeker from Su-30 MKI

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Air Force (IAF), the Native Radio Frequency (RF) from the coast of Odisha, on July 11, 2025 Friday, the Native Radio Frequency (RF) sector (RF) has successfully performed the flight test equipped with the serenity.

In a statement of a defense ministry, two launching against high -speed unmanned air targets at different intervals during the tests, target directions and launch platform conditions. In both cases, missiles destroyed targets with needle point accuracy.

The Ministry is all subsystems that are realized according to expectations, including the RF seeker designed and developed by DRDO.

He also said that the perfect performance of the Astra weapon system was confirmed by flight data caught by the interval tracking tools distributed by the integrated test range Chandipur.

“Astra Bvraam has a range of over 100 km and is equipped with the latest technology guidance and navigation system,” he said.

In addition to DRDO’s various laboratories, it has contributed to the success of more than 50 public and private industrial weapons systems, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh complimented IAF and Industry DRDO in the design and development of the RF caller, and said that the successful testing of the missile with the domestic caller is an important milestone in critical defense technology.

Secretary, Ministry of Defense R & D and President, DRDO Samir V. Kamat congratulated all teams in the successful flight test.
