Drivers urged to do 1 thing as major car park provider plunges into administration | UK | News

Motorists have been given new advice on when to use the company’s services as one of the UK’s largest parking providers has been placed into administration. NCP has collapsed into administration and is now run by PwC. Administration is a process in which an outside party steps in and takes control of the business with the aim of saving all or part of the business.
It usually occurs when a business faces long-term financial difficulties. As the company’s future becomes uncertain, some drivers are confused about how fines and fines will work. People even took to social media sites like Reddit to ask if they still had to pay to use NCP’s parking lots.
The company has hundreds of car parks across the country in major cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham, as well as car parks near hospitals and airports across the UK.
Motoring experts have warned drivers to pay for services as usual as the company continues to operate under administrators’ management. Meanwhile, those who were fined were encouraged to pay these fines to avoid further fines in the future.
“A lot of people are confused about where this will take them, and we’re worried the news will catch out with some drivers,” said John Wilmot, CEO of car rental company LeaseLoco.com. “PwC has issued a statement saying it is business as usual for now.
“This means that until further notice, if you use an NCP car park, remember to continue paying for your car park as normal or you may still face a fine.”
He added: “Those who have existing fines should also deal with them as they normally would by appealing or paying the fine. NCP has gone into administration which means it still exists, it’s now run by PwC, which doesn’t mean the fines are suddenly invalid.”
PwC recently issued a similar statement informing people that sentences still need to be carried out. The website states: “The administration process does not cancel or invalidate PCNs that have been issued. If you have received a PCN you remain liable to pay in accordance with the car park’s terms and conditions.”
“PCN [penalty charge notice] Payments should continue to be made as usual using the payment details specified in your PCN. Managers continue to run the business and existing payment channels remain active. If you encounter any difficulties making payment, please contact the details provided in your notification.”
