Drunk Driver Drags Cop On Bonnet

Hyderabad: Chaos ensued in Gachibowli on Sunday afternoon when an alleged 24-year-old drunk driver hit a traffic police officer and dragged him onto the bonnet of his car. Police said Gurrampati Tarun, a student from Narsingi, crashed into another vehicle near Nanakramguda in the early morning hours and was running away when the incident took place.

The first complaint came from Rahul Kamaraju. He said Tarun’s car crashed into his vehicle around 10.30 am, forcing it into the divider and causing serious damage. Kamaraju claimed that Tarun sped away towards ORR before the locals could react.

Minutes later, an alert was raised for the illegal car, traffic officer E/ Narsimhulu on duty at IIIT junction noticed the car and signaled Tarun to stop. Instead, Tarun accelerated, hit the police officer’s bonnet and drove for a few meters until locals blocked the road. The incident was recorded on CCTV.

Inspector K. Balaraju said Tarun’s breathalyzer test showed that his blood alcohol content was 160 mg/100 ml, which was well above the permissible limit of 30. Two cases were recorded; one is the Nanakramguda accident and the other is related to the bonnet carrying of a police officer under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Tarun, whose car was seized, will be referred to the courthouse. Police stated that the person returned from the USA, where he studied for a master’s degree, three months ago and had no previous criminal history.

Sajjanar warns against fake traffic concession videos

City police commissioner VC Sajjanar on Sunday criticized social media influencers for spreading false information about traffic challan privileges.

He stated that during the Lok Adalat to be held on March 14, many people were distributing videos claiming that traffic fines would be compromised. “The surprising thing is that these fake information videos have millions of views,” Sajjanar said.

The commissioner clarified that the police force does not announce such concessions and urged citizens not to believe or share misleading content. He warned that strict action would be taken against those who create and spread fake news to gain popularity on social media.

2 people died in bicycle accident

Two people lost their lives after a motorcycle crashed into a roadside tree in Dhanora village of Indravelli mandal of Adilabad district on Sunday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Naitham Jangubai (62) from Salewada in Indravelli Mandate and Ada Vijay (22) from Komaram Bheem Colony in Adilabad town. The incident took place at a crossing while traveling from Adilabad towards Indravelli. Jangubai was a relative of Vijay.

House break-in case worth Rs 1 cr solved, man held with stolen loot: Kushaiguda police

Kushaiguda police claimed to have solved a major house theft case with the arrest of an accused within 24 hours of the incident and the recovery of stolen goods worth around Rs 1 crore.

The theft took place at the house of 55-year-old businessman J. Anand Gupta, within Kushaiguda police limits. Preliminary investigation revealed that unidentified persons unlocked the main door without causing any visible damage and fled the house with around 40 tolas of gold ornaments, 3.7 kg of silverware and Rs 2.45 lakh in cash.

Following the complaint, police teams investigated the scene, collected technical evidence, analyzed the surrounding CCTV footage and caught the suspect. The suspect confessed his crime during interrogation, which enabled the recovery of all stolen valuables.

Rapid detection was possible thanks to coordinated efforts, surveillance analysis and rapid field verification, police officials said. The seized gold, silver and money were delivered to the family after legal procedures.

Female police officers injured after being hit by a cyclist

Panjagutta police said their female constable suffered minor injuries when she was hit by an unidentified cyclist while waiting at the bus stop following the Chief Minister’s bandobast duties. The motorcycle driver fled the scene after the incident.
Police said the complaint was lodged by Shivani, an Armed Reserve constable in the city police. Car depot near Shankarpally evacuated

A massive fire broke out at an automobile depot near Shankarpally on Chevella road around 4.55 am on Sunday. Since there were no personnel at that time, there was no loss of life. It is estimated that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
Chevella station fire officer (SFO) Ravinder Reddy said they received a distress call around 5 am from the owner of the building, Venkata Reddy, municipal officer of Chevella. Firefighters reached the spot within three minutes and due to the intensity of the flames, a fire engine from Shadnagar was later dispatched to the spot. The fire was brought under control around 09.45 in the morning after more than 4 hours of work.
“The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. The building is new and we do not suspect the wiring is old. It is a G+1 building and the ground floor has been leased to Rishitha Automobiles,” SFO Ravinder said.
Officials said no special equipment was used to extinguish the flames. The warehouse was completely evacuated and property loss was estimated at ₹4 crore, police said. Chevella inspector Bhoopal Sridhar confirmed that a case of fire accident was registered on the complaint of Rohith Rao, owner of the automobile company. Further investigation is ongoing. The company’s head office is located in Bowenpally.

Unidentified Man Found Dead in Abandoned House in Bahadurpally

Hyderabad: An unidentified man was found dead in an abandoned house near a garbage dump at Bahadurpally in Dundigal on Saturday evening. Based on the state of decomposition of the body, police suspected that he had committed suicide two days ago. After a passerby found the body, he informed the police, who came to the scene and took the body to Gandhi morgue for autopsy.

E-commerce worker was attacked by his colleagues

According to Shamshabad police, a 21-year-old employee of an e-commerce company was allegedly attacked by his colleagues after finishing his work for the day.

3 women detained for money extortion

285 petitions submitted to GHMC property tax campaign

GHMC’s Property Tax Parishkaram received 285 applications at its department offices on Sunday. The program will continue on March 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 10 am to 1 pm at all GHMC circle offices.

Most of the petitions concerned differences in property tax amounts, differences in registered property area, and mutation requests. Fake accounts on Kodad under CSB lens

Days after the Telangana Cyber ​​Security Bureau (TGCSB) registered cases related to mule accounts in city-based banks, authorities have unearthed a network of fake accounts in Kodad. According to TGCSB, locals were persuaded to open savings accounts with the promise of 20 percent commission in exchange for depositing the cyber fraud amounts. These accounts were then used as first- and second-tier recipients, and the account holders were unable to provide any legitimate financial justification for the transactions.

Authorities said that the review of National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) data revealed 116 savings and current accounts opened in Kodad branch of Bank of India and 778 criminal links were detected against them. Some bank officials are suspected of colluding with account holders to open these accounts for cyber fraud.

Similarly, TGCSB found that 89 savings accounts were opened in the Kodad branch of the Reserve Bank of India in connection with 364 criminal cases. 35 savings accounts and 2 current accounts were opened in Kodad branch of Indian Bank and 140 criminal connections were detected against them.

Investigations into the role of bank officials in facilitating these fraudulent operations are ongoing.

Senior citizen loses ₹3.71 lakh in credit card fraud

Hyderabad cyber crime police reported that cyber criminals cheated a 69-year-old man of ₹3.71 lakh on the pretext of offering a bank credit card.

Police said the victim clicked on a social media ad and was later contacted by a person he didn’t know who offered to help him apply online. The fraudster also contacted the victim via WhatsApp. During the exchange, the victim was asked to share electronic copies of his Aadhaar and PAN cards along with his photograph.

Minutes after submitting the documents, the victim noticed that money had been debited from his existing credit card. In his complaint, he stated that miscreants withdrew a total amount of 3.71 lakh from different places. He also raised the issue with the credit card company, but when he did not get a response, he approached the Hyderabad cybercrime police.
