Drunken menace banned from UK seaside town after terrorising public | UK | News

A woman who shouted, swore and frightened residents before attacking a police officer while drunk has been banned from the seaside town of Scarborough. Sadie Lauren Metcalf was given a criminal behavior order after appearing in court on three counts of burglary, two public order offenses and breaching an earlier criminal behavior order and assault.
Last year, he was reportedly sentenced to prison for throwing a shelf at a police officer, in what local media described as a “racist tirade”. Ms Metcalf, 31, reportedly shouted racial slurs at people walking on a local street and when police arrived to detain her, she placed wooden shelves and even plant pots on top of them which she had thrown from the balcony. For this he was sentenced to six months in prison.
Last week PC Sophie Milner commented: “Sadie Metcalf demonstrated a pattern of behavior that caused significant alarm, distress and harassment to members of the public, business owners and emergency service staff.
“Their behavior often results from excessive alcohol consumption and is characterized by aggressive, erratic and destructive actions in public spaces.
“I am grateful that the court recognized the consistent level of criminality and negligence demonstrated by Metcalf and imposed a five-year criminal conduct order.”
He was also given a 35-week suspended prison sentence for 18 months, 6 months of alcohol treatment and a 26-day rehabilitation requirement. He must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £200 compensation, £85 costs and a £187 victim surcharge.
