Drunken Salvation Army bell ringer allegedly attacks Publix manager with tripod

A Florida man who worked as a sexton for the Salvation Army during the holidays was arrested for allegedly trying to “scrape” a grocery store manager with a donated kettle tripod during Christmas week, according to authorities.
Steven Pavlik, 63, was arrested at his home this week and charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after fleeing a Publix in Stuart, Florida, where he allegedly drunkenly attacked the manager.
Pavlik was assigned to be the bell ringer outside the store.

“Steven Pavlik, 63, tried his hand at the part-time Christmas charity gig – but the drunken ringer, belligerent news and assault pushed him from bell duty to write the booking book after a full-blown charity tirade,” the Martin County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Christmas Eve Facebook post.
The store manager confronted Pavlik, who allegedly was drunk on duty and began “aggressively” harassing passersby, causing a “major disturbance” outside the store, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pavlik then allegedly attacked the store manager with a kettle tripod he donated.
“When the Publix manager came outside to talk to Pavlik, he became violent and attempted to impale the manager with a charity pot tripod,” the sheriff’s office said. wrote.

The sheriff’s office said the manager was not injured during the attack.
Pavlik fled, but deputies later found him at his home and he was taken into custody there.
Publix and the Salvation Army did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
