Dubai-bound Emirates returns to Bengaluru, 42 flights cancelled on March 3

Emirates flight EK 569 from Bengaluru to Dubai, which took off from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) with 56 passengers at 4.30 am on March 3, returned to KIA due to the closure of airspace in West Asia.
Airport officials said, “Flight EK 569 to Dubai, which took off at 4.30 with 56 passengers, was canceled and returned due to the closure of the airspace.” Hindu

Earlier on March 2, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) had announced that Emirates would operate an A388 aircraft from Dubai to Bengaluru and back to the UAE.
“Emirates will operate A388 with flight number EK 568/569 SIBT 0240 SOBT 0430 early tomorrow morning, departure will be restricted to DXB only for UAE nationals and residence permit holders,” BIAL said.
While flight EK 568 landed in Bengaluru, flight EK 569 bound for Dubai took off from KIA at 4.30 am but returned.
Flight operations from the West Asia region to Bengaluru, which had been suspended since February 28 due to the increasing tension in the region, resumed with the Etihad plane departing from Abu Dhabi landing at KIA on the night of March 2.
42 flights were canceled
Due to airspace restrictions in West Asia, 42 flights were canceled at KIA until 15:00 on March 3
Airport officials said 21 arrivals and 2 departures were canceled. Key sectors affected are: Abu Dhabi and Dubai (UAE), Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam (Saudi Arabia) and Doha (Qatar).
