Dubai faced major floods as rainy weather filled the streets with water in the largest city of the United Arab Emirates.

On Thursday, Dubai police even said people should stay inside.

In a statement, police said: “As unstable weather conditions are expected in the coming hours, please be careful for your safety and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary until midday on Friday.”

Rain is expected to continue in Dubai and Abu Dhabi until Friday.

This is the UAE’s heaviest rainfall since records began 76 years ago.
