ECB Likely to Hike Rates in 2027, BNP Paribas Says

Sam Lynton-Brown of BNP Paribas Markets 360 says European Central Bank interest rates are “in a good place at the moment” but expects the ECB’s next move to be an increase rather than a cut. “The raise will not happen immediately, we think this is a story for 2027,” Lynton-Brown told Bloomberg Television. He added that growth in Europe in 2026 “may surprise materially on the upside”, especially due to Germany’s fiscal expectations.
