Trump says Iran has sought ceasefire, sets condition on Hormuz Strait

In the post, Trump claimed that Iran’s new leadership had approached the United States demanding a ceasefire amid the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region. But he also warned that Washington would demand the reopening of the vital oil shipping route before any ceasefire was considered.
“The President of Iran’s New Regime, far less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just requested a ceasefire from the United States!” Trump wrote at Truth Social. “We will evaluate the Strait of Hormuz when it is open, free and clear. Until then, we will return Iran to oblivion, or as they say, back to the Stone Age!!!”
The statement comes as tensions between the United States and Iran remain high after weeks of military strikes and escalating rhetoric. Trump has repeatedly demanded that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy chokepoint through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.
