ED Summons Meta, Google in Online Betting Money Laundering Probe

New Delhi: The Executive Directorate called technology giants Meta and Google representatives as part of a black money laundering investigation against a number of illegal online betting platforms.
There was no immediate response from the two companies. The Federal Agency is investigating multiple platforms that host illegal betting and gambling connections, including advertising samples placed in various internet -based social media organizations and application stores.
It is understood that technology giants are called by ED to understand how such illegal platforms can advertise to social media and communication connections. Some actors, celebrities and sports people are also under the browser of the agency and are expected to be called by ED soon.
ED said that illegal online betting and gambling platforms deceived their hard -earned money, and also laundering and escaping money from rupees worth of taxes.
