Eghosa Ogbebor: Teenager accused of murdering boy, 14, in shooting appears in court

A teenager has appeared in court accused of murdering a 14-year-old boy who was shot dead in south-east London.
Eghosa Ogbebor was murdered in Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich. The police were called to the scene at around 15.40 on April 2, upon a report of an armed attack.
On Saturday, a 16-year-old boy from Romford, east London, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court, where he was sent to a youth detention home before his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.
Police said the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on April 4 and released on bail.
The Metropolitan Police said he was rearrested on April 9 and charged with murder the next day.
On April 4 officers arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man in Woolwich on suspicion of murder and a 46-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police said all three were released on bail.
A 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested on April 3 in connection with Eghosa’s death and were released on bail while investigations continue.
On April 10, another 16-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
Police said on Friday that Eghosa’s family was being supported by specialist officers and the investigation was ongoing.
