A fire has broken out in a British seaside town that emergency services have described as “massive”. Firefighters headed to Sea Road in South Shields to battle the blaze on Friday night, with multiple crews tending to the blaze. The A183 was partially closed in both directions while fire crews continued their work.

The fire service has urged locals to “stay away from the area” and close doors and windows while crews deal with the incident, believed to have occurred at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park.
