Eight arrested over conspiracy to destroy London’s Ulez cameras

Eight people were arrested by the metropolitan police in connection with a conspiracy allegedly to be a conspiracy to destroy the ulez cameras.

The arrests containing six men and two women followed an operation coordinated by force. Eight people are suspected of conspiracy to cause criminal damage. One of the men is allegedly related to threatening and harassing a team sent to repair a damaged camera.

In the early hours of Wednesday, Met made arrests at the addresses on London, Windsor and Sheppey Island.

London arrests took place in Uxbridge, Ikenham, Northwood, Sutton and Eltham.

Those arrested are in custody.

The calls continue at the addresses, but civil servants say they have already saved the alleged crimes.

Inspector Paul Thomas of the Metin’s Ways and Transportation Police Command said: “There is a big difference between legal protest and plan to destroy ownership or seriously damage property.

“Some may think of such behaviors as a sacrificial crime, but when the cameras are damaged or destroyed, collisions on the road cause dangerous dangers for drivers and residents when they are damaged or destroyed.

“We take these crimes very seriously, and civil servants will continue to work closely with London and other partners to identify and create a lawsuit against those responsible.

“Today’s arrests are an important development in a long and complex investigation that has not yet ended.

“I appeal to everyone who has information about the plans to target the Ulez cameras.”
