Soccer Player Talks Being ‘Villainized’ In Retirement
Former British goalkeeper Mary Earps said he felt bad after announced that he had retired from international football before the European Championship.
In the last Euro in 2022, EARPS became a national hero to run into the World Cup final a year later.
But last month, while deciding to end his career in England, he spoke about the treatment he received – the team only weeks before the defense of the trophy in Switzerland.
Earps did not specify where the criticism came from, but he was “difficult and painful” and said that he was “somehow worsening somehow.
