Elton John hosts godson Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz at his Oscars viewing party… after hot sauce influencer’s Mother’s Day swipe at Victoria

Elton John appeared to act as a mediator between his godson Brooklyn Beckham and the hot sauce phenomenon’s superstar family at an Oscar viewing party on Sunday.

The Rocket Man singer hosted the Hollywood crème de la crème on the evening of cinema’s biggest night, with a guest list that included Brooklyn, 27, and wife Nicola Peltz amid an ongoing row with the Beckhams.

Just hours before the party, as the UK celebrated Mother’s Day, the aspiring chef took a painful swipe at his mum Victoria – only paying tribute to his mother-in-law Claudia’s belated birthday – while avoiding the former Spice Girl altogether.

At Sunday’s bash, Elton was caught talking sternly to the nepo babes, while fiancé Brooklyn looked serious with Nicola by his side.

The Beckhams and Elton have been friends for more than 30 years; David affectionately referred to the musician as ‘Uncle Elton’ after becoming friends during football’s heyday.

Elton was scheduled to perform at the Beckhams’ wedding in 1999 and was unable to perform due to a heart attack, but he later sang at the christening in Brooklyn.

Victoria once revealed that Elton inspired her to say goodbye to the Spice Girls, and wrote an emotional letter to her older self, admitting that watching her friend perform made her realize her true calling went beyond singing.

Ahead of the Oscars, Brooklyn was on hand to celebrate former model Claudia Heffner Peltz’s 71st birthday with her actress husband Nicola on Saturday evening, and she wasted no time in sharing the memory on social media.

Brooklyn shared a photo of himself with Claudia and Nicola on Instagram just hours before Britain’s Mother’s Day kicks off.

She captioned the post: ‘Happy birthday to the best mother-in-law. ‘I love you so much and I hope you had the most amazing day.’ Claudia’s birthday fell on March 12.

This seemed a particularly deliberate move, given that most of those celebrating Mother’s Day in the UK would be on duty, and Claudia’s birthday was four days earlier.

Meanwhile, photos posted by Nicola, 31, showed the couple celebrating their big day with Claudia Heffner Peltz. In her tribute, Nicola wrote: ‘Happy birthday to my mother! The fact that I get to call you mom truly makes me the luckiest person ever.

Nicola attracted attention with her form-fitting black dress as she joined her husband Brooklyn at the party.

It came during David’s impassioned tribute speech on Mother’s Day morning, which included a photo of Victoria while she was pregnant.

She captioned the photo: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to the most amazing mother…..You are an inspiration to our 4 amazing children in every way a mother should be…’

‘We love you so much and I’m so grateful for the family we’ve created. Have a special Mother’s Day because if anyone deserves it, it’s you. I love you @victoriabeckham.’

Brooklyn has become close to Nicola’s parents and spent last Christmas celebrating with her billionaire family, including her brother Bradley.

It came after he was said to have been ‘disheartened’ by his parents publicly wishing him a happy birthday and breaking their contact agreement.

A source told the publication: ‘Brooklyn and Nicola are left disheartened that they chose to make public Instagram posts for her birthday.

‘These are the kinds of public actions that Brooklyn is trying in vain to put an end to.

‘Last summer they published a legal letter to their parents requesting that all correspondence be through lawyers.’
