Emcure betting on innovator edge in crowded weight-loss drug market

An intense price war is expected with the introduction of generic drugs, undermining the innovative molecule. Natco Pharma was the first company to announce its price on Friday and launched the drug on: ₹1,290-1,750 per month for vial dosages, well below Novo ₹8,790 per month for the starting dose on the pen device. Natco’s pen device is nearly 50% cheaper ₹4,000 per month for initial dose.
