Emergency services scrambled to secondary school as man dies after falling unwell

Emergency services scrambled to a London secondary school after a man fell well and died.
A significant police and ambulance presence was seen at the gates of Teddington School in Broom Road, South West London, on Tuesday morning and pupils were reportedly sent home.
The London Ambulance Service said a man died at the scene and confirmed the patient was not a pupil at Teddington School.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of an ill person in Broom Road, Teddington, at 7.17am today.
“We sent an ambulance crew, paramedics in rapid response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene.
“Despite efforts to save his life, one patient unfortunately died at the scene.”
The Met police said the London Ambulance Service responded to the incident due to a “medical emergency”.
According to reports in local media, children were sent home from Teddington School this morning, leaving parents waiting to discover the reasons for the closure, according to reports about X.
“Teddington School closed with police and ambulance in attendance. No clear answer. Lots of police and ambulance in attendance. Might be outside the entrance outside the school. Everything is closed all day for sure,” said one person X.
The school did not disclose the nature of the incident and Independent closed for the day.
