An energy company in the UK went into administration, putting 300 jobs at risk. Wales-based firm Consumer Energy Solutions installs insulation, heating systems and renewable energy systems in homes across Britain.

However, the company announced on its website that it had ceased trading “with immediate effect”, meaning it would be unable to carry out any further work for customers.

He said: “Please note that James Saunders and Michael Lennon of KR8 Advisory Limited were appointed Joint Administrators of Consumer Energy Solutions Limited on 9 January 2026, the Company has ceased trading with immediate effect. Please note that the Company will be unable to complete any further work for customers.

“It is worth noting that the Company’s Administration does not extend to any other companies in the City Energy Group. The Joint Administrators will contact creditors and employees directly to confirm next steps and how claims will be handled. You do not need to do anything else at this stage.”

The company has also informed former customers that they should now seek help elsewhere with any problems with any work being carried out.

The announcement stated: “As Consumer Energy Solutions has gone into Administration we will be unable to carry out any remedial work or repairs or progress or resolve any existing complaints.

“If you have an installation completed by Consumption Energy Solutions and you are experiencing any issues that you think need to be fixed, we refer you to the following insurance backed warranty providers who can advise.”

The firm said its affairs were managed by joint administrators James Saunders and Michael Lennon, who are authorized and regulated by the Association of Insolvency Practitioners.

The joint directors acted as representatives of the company without personal liability, the announcement said.

Consumer Energy Solutions says on its website that it has “implemented energy efficiency measures including insulation, renewable heating systems and solar PV in homes across the UK, and we’re pretty good at it.”

He adds: “We specialize in using government-backed grants to transform your home into a more energy efficient home at no cost to yourself.

“Grants from schemes such as Local Government Flexibility (LA Flex), Warm Home funding and the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) including the Green Homes Grant Local Government Delivery Plan.

“This reduces your energy bills and carbon emissions and can increase the value of your home.”
