Engaging with States to ensure effective implementation of UMEED portal for Waqf properties: Minority Affairs Ministry

The Ministry of Minority Affairs said that on Sunday, June 22, 2025, it was actively interesting with states and trade union regions to ensure effective implementation of the UMEed portal, and emphasizing that the details of all registered WAQF properties throughout India will be loaded on this platform within six months.

In accordance with this effort, the ministry said that the minority works Secretary Chandra Shekhar Kumar visited Mumbai on June 21 with the State Secretary of the State Secretary, senior officials and Maharashtra state Waqf CEO.
This pointed out this kind of second visit after a similar examination in Bihar last week.
During the meeting, Mr. Kumar collected the authorities of the rules to be published in a short time to support the legal requirements of the portal.
The authority encouraged proactive participation and invited government officials to facilitate the implementation process.

Mr Kumar assured re -confirming the commitment to strengthen the weqf boards of the center and develop Waqf property management, making sure that the demand will be examined in a sympathetic way.
In addition to reviewing the UMEed application, the secretary also evaluated the status of projects under the Pradhan Manti Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in Maharashtra.
He directed the government officials to submit all the bids waiting for the necessary transactions within a week to the Ministry.
Mr. Kumar also held a meeting with the Indian Pilgrimage Committee (HCOI) officials in Mumbai and congratulated them for the trouble -free and successful behavior of Haj 2025.
Gladly, he said that he recorded the lowest number of deaths and health -related events among Indian pilgrims this year.
Mr. Kumar attributed this success to the coordination between the Ministry, the Indian Haj Committee, the depocatists, the Saudi authorities and the local support systems.
The secretary has particularly accepted the effectiveness of Haj Suvidha, which plays an important role in improving the pilgrim experience and alleviating difficulties on the ground.
Authorized confirmed that information from this year’s Haj operations will be used to further improve regulations for Haj 2026.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs undertakes to provide efficient management of foundation properties and an honorable pilgrimage experience for all HAJIs through digital strengthening and sensitive governance.
Following the launch of the Central Portal of the United Foundation, strengthening, productivity and development, 1995 (UMEED) Central Portal on June 6, 2025, the Ministry of Minority Affairs is actively interested in the states and union regions to ensure the effective implementation of this legal platform.
According to the task of the UMEed portal, the details of all registered foundation properties in India will be required within six months.
On June 6, the government launched a portal to create a digital inventory after labeling all Waqf properties geographically, and minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju called the community as a historical step that would enable the use of WAQF assets to poor Muslims effectively and fairly.
The UMEed Portal will serve as a central digital platform for real -time loading, verification and monitoring of foundation properties.
