Ukraine and the United States signed the intensely promoted agreement. President Donald TrumpIn April, it provides preferential access to new Ukraine mineral projects in exchange for investment in the US.
The agreement is seen as a way of providing the US financial aid to revive the economy and infrastructure of the US by the US war, which was fired by the US 2022 full -scale invasion.
Ukrainian Economy Minister Oleksiy Soboslev said that the government is determined to progress rapidly to realize the agreement and wants to determine three pilot investment projects in the next 18 months.
Ukrainian, US and European officials participated in a conference said, “Currently there are site visits from the United States … And tomorrow we are going to the regions to look for an investment pipeline.”
The US became the largest military donor in Ukraine while fighting Russian forces. However, since he returned to the White House this year, Trump argued that the US had to take back something to help Kiev.
Half of the revenues earned by the Ukrainian government from the new mineral conclusion within the scope of the agreement will go to a common investment fund with the profit between Kiev and Washington.
In addition to the mineral sector, where projects may be intensive with long application delivery times and the projects, the US-Ukraine fund will invest in the energy sector and infrastructure.
Ukraine has 22 of the 34 minerals, which are considered critical for sectors such as defense, high -tech tools and green energy by the European Union. It also has ferro alloys needed by the steel industry, non -iron metals used in construction and some precious metals and rare soil elements.
