England v Spain: Lionesses ‘have it inside them’ to win final – Mariona Caldentey

Mariona Caldentey says Britain “in it” to win 2025 euros and Spain, and that the teams should be careful when they meet again in the final.

The match at Basel on Sunday (17:00 BST) will be repeated the 2023 Women’s World Cup Final, which Spain won 1-0 in Sydney.

Both teams went to the head of the Women’s Nations League this year and England won 1-0 in Wembley in February before defeating 2-1 in Barcelona in June.

Midfielder Caldentey won the Women’s Champions League this season with Arsenal and WSL was chosen as the player of the year – so he knows the lions well.

Orum I know footballers and I know what they can do, Cal Caldentey said to BBC Sport.

“This is a final, so maybe even if they can’t play the biggest football, they are dangerous, but it is in them. It will be a difficult but good game.”

The ruling champions UK has overcome a few setbacks to reach the third consecutive Grand Final and had a RollerCoaster tournament.

Following the defeat in the opening group games of France, they came from the quarter -final penalty against Sweden and needed extra time in the semifinals to beat Italy.

World champions Spain has won six flashlights in a row in major tournaments – but will compete in the first Euro final.

“We can enjoy today. We have to start thinking about England tomorrow,” said twice Ballon d’Or winner Bonmati, after 1-0 victory against Germany.

“I know England has played twice for 120 minutes. We trust our team. We believe in our players.

“There are many players that we have encountered many times, and in 2023. We know them and know us. We want to prepare the best we can.”
