English teacher caught with ‘paedophile manuals’ and 43,000 vile photos | UK | News
An English teacher who wrote “pedophile manuals” and possessed more than 43,000 sickening images of abused children has been jailed for three-and-a-half years. Charles Cornelius, 57, also used artificial intelligence to produce disgusting materials but was trapped after returning to the UK from holiday in Thailand but could not resist taking part in their dirty activities.
National Crime Agency officers investigated Charles Cornelius, 57, of Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, after receiving information that an account linked to him had uploaded ten indecent images of children online. Cornelius was living and teaching permanently in Thailand when he returned to the UK in June 2022 and uploaded the footage online.
He was later arrested at Manchester Airport when he returned to the UK for another trip on 9 August 2023 and was charged with possessing, making and distributing indecent images.
He made no comment during the meeting and was released on conditional bail. Judges rejected his application to be allowed to return to Thailand while the investigation was ongoing.
Analysis of their devices revealed known AI creation of child sexual abuse material, as well as prompts used to create AI images.
Two self-generated pedophile manuals were also discovered, despite attempts to encrypt the devices and hide the material.
Swindon-born Cornelius has previously taught young children in several countries, including Kenya, Russia and Hungary. He is believed to have taken a course on teaching English to non-native speakers before working for the British Council Thailand from 2012. He also claims online that he was hired at a UK university after completing a history degree.

“His creation of pedophile guides reflects a disturbing desire to prey on the most vulnerable in society. He did all this by putting himself in a position of trust around children.”
