Karoline Leavitt accuses Democrats of lying about Minneapolis ICE shooting

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt accused Democrats and the mainstream media on Monday of “lying from the beginning” about the ICE officer involved in the deadly shooting in Minneapolis, adding that they were forced to backtrack on their narrative on “America Reports.”

“They had to change their story and narrative,” Leavitt said.

On January 7, an ICE agent fatally shot Minneapolis woman Renee Nicole Good after she reportedly tried to run her over with her vehicle, sparking controversy over the agent’s use of deadly force.

While the Department of Homeland Security said the agent was defending himself, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem claimed Good was “stalking” ICE officers.

Meanwhile, Democratic leaders such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned the attack as murder and criticized the Trump administration’s “lawless violence.”

Leavitt doubled down on his claim that Democrats were “wrong” and “despicable” lied about the case.

“Because at first you heard Democrats, including the mayor of Minneapolis, saying that the car never hit the police officer and that lethal force was unjustified,” he said. “Of course, there is ample video evidence of the police officer being hit by a car, this unstable woman trying to hit him with her vehicle, and using that vehicle as a weapon, which justifies domestic terrorism.”

When Fox News host John Roberts asked Leavitt whether President Donald Trump thought the ICE officer’s actions were justified, Leavitt replied, “Absolutely.”

“And I think the mounting evidence that comes out shows that the officer was right and President Trump was right about this all along,” he continued.

Minneapolis isn’t the only place “Leavitt added that “organized paid opponents” were trying to obstruct law enforcement.

“They are harassing and targeting ICE agents, trying to make it impossible again for them to do their jobs. “That’s what happened in this case,” he charged.

Leavitt continued to defend the ICE agent’s fatal response to Good, calling him “experienced” and “courageous.”

““This police officer used his training,” Leavitt said. “I understand that he is on the force and has been protecting American communities for many years. He is an experienced and courageous person who unfortunately had to make a very difficult decision, put in this situation by paid agitators who do this all over the country.”
