‘He Had Sex With a 17-Year-Old’

Matt GaetzThe former Florida congressman and short-lived attorney general candidate turned host of One America News Network was brutally disparaged by the X community over the weekend.

Gaetz’s trouble started when he responded to a tweet from Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), argued: “If your ‘conservatism’ flirts with anti-Semitism, it is not conservatism. We stand for truth, not blind tribalism. You cannot save Western Civilization while repeating its oldest hatreds.”

crenshaw responded: “If your ‘conservatism’ is flirting with underage girls, that’s not conservatism.”

Gaetz insisted Crenshaw was repeating a lie and claimed, without evidence, that he was paid $7,000 to make social media posts supporting Israel.

“Representative Crenshaw – unable to defend his political views – resorts to a debunked slander. Take that $7k bro…” he wrote.

Unfortunately for Gaetz, the Community Note added to this post corrects this record.

“The allegations have not been refuted. The bipartisan House Ethics Committee found ‘substantial evidence’ that Gaetz paid for sex and had sex with a 17-year-old in 2017. The committee lost its authority to impose sanctions after Gaetz left the House but still issued its findings,” the Community Note says.

Gaetz resigned from Congress in an attempt to prevent the Ethics Committee report from being released after being elected as then-President Donald Trump Gaetz announced his candidacy to head the Justice Department, but the committee released it anyway last December.

The committee also found that “nearly every woman” it spoke to “was unable to recall details of at least one or more of the events they attended with Representative Gaetz and attributed this to drug or alcohol consumption.”
